Game On

in 2006, FX held a contest to create a TV show pilot on a shoestring budget. Cliff, Jim, Patrick and I put our heads together, and we came up with "Game On". The show was going to be about four friends who are obsessed with video games and how their obsession rules their lives, the effect it has on their relationships, their jobs, and every day life. It was a comedy of errors that was ridiculous and off the wall, but we thought a show worth sharing. Sadly, FX's idea of a shoestring budget is a few thousand. We had a few cents and the video camera. So, our show never was. What is here is the live action submission to the contest as well as a second attempt at an animated show. Who knows. Maybe one day "Game On" will have another chance. Until then, we have only this silly attempt.

Spider-man Orders Dinner

Ah, a classic. I filmed this at Jason's apartment way back in 2004... Wow, was it really that long ago?... My favorite part about all this was that the pizza guy did not react at all. I hid the camera and ordered the pizza. I didn't know what I expected from the delivery guy, but this was great! He just handed that pizza over like, "Hey, I deliver to Spidey all the time." I edited it in no time at all and had it ready to watch that night. We were all chilling at Jay's and Heckel's. None of the guys had any idea what I was up to. Good times. Good times.

the Rainbow Connection

This is number three in the three part lazy Sunday series of shorts I filmed with Sierra. I really like this one, and it was well received (though not by the Muppet folks. It was pulled from youtube, so I renamed it and didn't tag any properties). I think the build up on this one might feel a bit long, but it helps the viewer get annoyed along with Sierra.

Tortoise Beats Hare

This was number two in my three Sunday videos made with Sierra. The Tortoise and Hare fable is a classic, but not in the sense that "Slow and steady wins the race" is a great moral (though it is of course). It's more of a classic because of good ol' Bugs Bunny. Another inspiration in the development of what makes me laugh is Looney Tunes. I can remember sitting in front of the tv for June Bugs every summer. I can still pop in my Looney Tunes dvd and just laugh. One of these days, I'd like to recreate the Bugs Bunny Baseball episode. As for this one, it was not exactly what I wanted. I had actually intended to dress up as a rabbit and Sierra as a turtle, but alas, time did not permit. Despite that, I still enjoy this one. Especially the ending. I totally had that coming.

Faces of the Moon

"Faces of the Moon" was the first of of three shorts that I filmed on a series of lazy Sundays with my girl friend Sierra. We had just watched "Be Kind Rewind", and being inspired by Michel Gondry, I decided to attempt a simplistic special effect, and the Moon was created. I must also credit the Calvin and Hobbes comic where this joke comes from. I love Calvin and Hobbes. Bill Watterson is a huge influence in my art and my humor.
